– After twelve rounds of the fight a draw was declared: Adelaide Byrd gave the victory to Alvarez (118-110), Dave Moretti thought Golovkin was better (115-113), referee Don Trella saw a draw (114-114).
– After the fight, both boxers said they disagreed with the result and wanted a rematch.
“I didn’t lose. I’m still the champion. Of course I want a rematch, I want to fight,” Golovkin said.
“I obviously won seven or eight rounds. Before the championship rounds, I was sure I was winning the fight. Obviously, I want a rematch,” Alvarez said.
